Lake Balboa

One afternoon last week Kacie and I went to Lake Balboa. What a great place with so much to see and do -- ducks and honkers everywhere both in and out of the lake, cherry blossoms beginning to bloom, 2 playgrounds with soft matting (one for toddlers and one for bigger kids), walking and biking paths and lots of friends. It was quite a site.

We arrived in time to eat our picnic lunch. Kacie was infatuated with watching the ducks while eating her egg salad sandwich. She was perfectly content sitting in her stroller and eating (which doesn't happen all too often). She kept eating and eating...!

I've decided that Kacie really is a very cautious child. She does not want to do anything unless she is 100% comfortable. In many ways, it is very nice and in others, it is a tad frustrating. She is afraid of walking on the platforms on the climbing structures because of all the little holes in them. She does love going down the slide though - but isn't too keen on having to walk around and up the structure to get to the top. So if Mom just lifts her up there, she is happy to slide down but ... let's just say we are trying to avoid a bad habit!

I didn't get such great pictures but here are a few...

Kacie zoning out and bird watching/chasing.

These geese were afraid of nothing!
