4th of July

We had a relaxing but somewhat eventful 4th of July here in LA - staying close to home just IN CASE this baby decided to come. We coasted through the weekend though and have fond memories of the day.

In the morning we spent a little time with Grandpa and Bubbie at their house. Daddy gave Grandpa, who was home for the hospital for the night!, a haircut.

Kacie being a ham. oh well.

We left Grandpa's in time for a short snooze (in the car) before heading to the Live Steamers section of Griffith Park. Poohpah's cousin, Jon, is a member there and has been so gracious to ensure that the tradition of the Roberts/Newbill family picnic continues. Grandma Lynn used to always organize a fun day out in Simi Valley (and Chatsworth before that?) and it was a bit of an annual tradition for us. Now the event is held at the mini train exhibit and Jon always operates his train rides and we enjoy a potluck lunch. It's been a while since I've gone, and Kacie had fun getting to see and ride the trains (and also play with her cousin Hannah and see other family members!)

All aboard! Ready to go...

Baba's turn to ride. Kacie wanted to go again!
