We went to see Dr. Linehan yesterday for Kacie's 2 month appointment. Mommy reported that all is well and the doctor concurred! Kacie's growth, while not huge, is perfectly on her growth line - my average child! :) She is now 11 lbs, 7oz. and 22 inches approximately. So she has gained almost exactly an ounce a day since she was 1 month old. Not bad for only drinking for 6 minutes exactly every 3 or so hours!
Kacie did NOT like the shots. Poor thing. We did all of the recommended ones -- Rotavirus (orally), DTaP, Polio, Hib & Hep B (together), and pneumococcal. So she had 2 shots in each thigh. I was leaning down to keep her calm and when the shots went in, her eyes got really big and she WAILED -- looking at me like "HELP ME, MOM!!" I could have cried.
Kacie is smiling and talking a lot these days. Or at least when she feels like it. She doesn't like to perform on camera though. You should see me with the video camera. Oh dear.
Here is Kacie with Mr. Carrot this morning - her 2 month old birthday!
Of course, she is fascinated with the mobile and won't look at me.
Kacie slept a lot of the day yesterday after we returned from the doctor so I was afraid she may not sleep too well last night. When she woke up about 6:30pm, she was in utter agony. She cried a painful cry in and out of dozing off from about 6:30pm until 7:30pm. So we gave her a small dose of Children's Tylenol at that time...
After a few bounces, she went right to sleep about 7:40pm and slept until 2:10am, when she got up to eat her usual 6 minutes and went right back to bed until 7am this morning. She was all smiles until about 8:15am when it was time to back to bed. She slept in her crib for another hour. Bless my sweet child.
We have also been going to Mommy & Baby yoga the last 3 Thursdays from 11am until 12:30pm. The first time we went Kacie was an angel. She looked around and listened to the other, older kids talking. The last two times, she's been a tad more fussy. So we are going to try a little something new (feeding there right before!) and will keep trying! It is good for Mommy and we also meet new people too. Yesterday we had coffee afterwards with Natalie, who is 10 weeks old, and her mommy (Alena? from Prague) who I went to pre-natal yoga with.
It's Friday! Hooray. It will be good to have Daddy home...and for him to get some sleep. :)
